Fifteen-year-old Lena contacted me by email to let me know that her family would be traveling to Malmö for two weeks in July.
Although I usually do photography in Copenhagen, I was thrilled at the opportunity to take on clients in Sweden and decided to go there. I planned to photograph them in the charming town of Skanör, as it is a stunning location, especially at sunset.
We first met in a meadow near the Falsterbo Lighthouse, where the view was absolutely breathtaking. We captured a few photos in front of the lighthouse before quickly heading to the opposite side of town, as the sun was about to set.
Skanör beach exceeded all my expectations. Two small restaurants by the harbor, people enjoying the golden hour, and the pristine white sand dunes glowing under the setting sun created a magical atmosphere. The stormy sea added to the drama, with its waves crashing onto the shore and retreating with frothy white foam.
Throughout the session, the family was running, laughing, and savoring their time together, almost as if I were not even there. The final shot was taken at the lifeguard tower, capturing a moment of pure joy and connection.
We said our goodbyes at nearly 10 p.m., and I hurried back to Copenhagen, feeling grateful for the experience.
